Description
This investigation of the role of research in the choreographic process takes the form of a case study of Bessie Award winner Miguel Gutierrez's "And lose the name of action," which premiered in 2012. Insights from in-depth interviews with Gutierrez on his research into somatic, philosophical, and paranormal forms lead to questions (and possibly some answers) about the implications of interdisciplinary performance forms for artists and librarians.
