Abstract

My research investigated how government agencies can build trust with farmers to facilitate a supportive relationship towards better agricultural practices. Through surveying environmental agencies and analyzing their trust-building strategies, I aim to support the implementation of better practices and address issues such as excessive cyanobacteria growth in Lake Champlain caused by agricultural runoff. I hypothesize that by prioritizing trust-building with farmers, state and local environmental agencies can achieve greater success in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and preserving our natural resources.
