Abstract
Insecticides are widely applied to remove the pests from the crops in agroecosystems. The approach of high insecticide application is initially very effective, but quickly loses its effectiveness, in some cases within a few generations of the pest. My research focuses on understanding the methods in which resistance forms and solutions to mitigating resistance. The mechanism to do this is histone acetylation and the way that the exposure of histone modifying compounds can change epigenetic expression and resistance.
