Choosing options and accommodations for children (COACH): Curriculum planning for students with disabilities in general education classrooms

Abstract
This chapter describes the first edition of a curricular planning tool for students with significant developmental disabilities called COACH (Choosing Options and Accommodations for CHildren, 1993). Subsequent updated versions editions of the tool were published in 1998 and 2011, with an upcoming 4th edition scheduled for publication in 2026. This chapter describes what COACH is and some of the early research about it's use and impact.
