Abstract
Although nutrition education has historically been taught from a weight-normative perspective, increasing rates of disordered eating and weight-based bullying among adolescents in North America would suggest the need for an alternative approach. Utilizing a weight-inclusive perspective is one way to improve both physical and mental health outcomes in individuals. However, there is an absence of research on effective weight-inclusive curriculum at the high school level. The aim of this work is to identify challenges and opportunities associated with developing and implementing a weightinclusive nutrition education curriculum for Vermont high schools.
