Abstract
Rural areas such as Essex County, New York face various challenges in terms of mental health care access. Primarily, there is a known shortage of mental health professionals, and wait times to establish with a therapist or psychiatrist can be substantial. This project sought to compile evidence-based resources such as mindfulness practice, exercise, and safety planning, to create an accessible pamphlet that could be obtained by patients at the Elizabethtown and Willsboro Health Centers. This project expanded on previous mental health-related projects by Family Medicine students at the Elizabethtown clinical site.
