Abstract
Adolescence is a period of development that is increasingly important to focus on. Physiological, psychosocial, and behavioral changes occur rapidly and can contribute to stress experienced by youth, which may go unnoticed by adults. The Conversations Around Resilience and Early-life Stress (CARES) Study is a qualitative study of teens across Vermont which aimed to amplify adolescent voices regarding their perceptions of stress, adversity, and resilience experienced in their own lives and the lives of their peers. One key focus of the study intends to highlight future research directions of importance to adolescent participants guided by their lived experiences.
