Abstract
Sleep is an essential biological process that allows the body to recuperate and reduce activity. Humans on average sleep for about 1/3 of their life, about 7-9 hours daily. Any less would eventually cause physiological consequences on the body such as being at risk for certain diseases and illnesses. The human body relies on a circadian rhythm, which refers to our cellular, psychological, and behavioral processes that occur, every day. Any interruptions led to genetic risks for certain sleep disorders, like insomnia. One of the main predisposed genetic risks is a slower electroencephalography, or the measurement of brain activity during sleep.
