Abstract
Nocturnal Encounter is a multi-media performance set to new music composed by UVM Professor David Feurzeig. Utilizing a computer graphics program called Isadora (a visual effects interface designed for performing artists), I designed interactive intelligent lighting which is projected onto the dancers throughout the piece, which I choreographed in collaboration with co-performer Chloe Schafer. This work was presented at the American College Dance Association's Regional Conference in 2019, where it received critique from several prominent professionals in the field of Dance and was the first piece of its kind to be presented at this venue by UVM. Later, it was also presented at the Vermont College Dance Exchange, and at a private spring recital for former UVM President Tom Sullivan and invited guests.
