Abstract
The AHA/ACC released new guidelines in 2026 for lipid management that utilize tests such as Lp(a), ApoB, and Coronary Artery Calcium Scores that help to tip the scale one way or another for starting lipid lowering therapy for the "borderline" risk patient (3-<5%). The purpose of this project was to create an EPIC dotphrase that would be easy and quick for physicians and other providers to use for patient education materials (as well as for personal resource), as well as to improve local awareness of the new updates for patients so they may make more educated decisions regarding preventative care. The dotphrase contains brief summaries of the meaning of being a borderline patient in the PREVENT calculator, the different labs/imaging studies, and different resources to encourage patient research on a variety of cardiovascular conditions.
