Abstract
As of January 1st, 2026, some of the largest health insurance providers in Vermont changed their coverage of GLP-1 agonist medications. This change in coverage has led to confusion among patients already on these medications or looking to start them. The aim of this guide is to provide information and resources to reduce confusion and stress regarding the current coverage of these medications and the prior authorization process in general. This guide was shaped through conversations with pharmacists, prior authorization specialists, patients, and providers at Grace Cottage Family Health.
