Abstract
Despite national efforts to achieve ecosystem restoration targets, incentive mechanisms have focused on recovering forests rather than savannas and grasslands. Through a systematic literature review, my Ph.D. research aims to uncover: i) what are the market and non-market incentives to promote restoration in savannas and grasslands worldwide? ii) how do these incentives contribute to delivering socioeconomic and environmental outcomes? and iii) what are the constraints and enabling factors for implementing restoration incentives in these ecosystems? I will review peer-reviewed articles and grey literature written in English and Portuguese, using the PRISMA methodology, and present my conceptual model and expected outcomes.
