Abstract
This study inves-gated whether probio-c yogurt consump-on would alter the gut microbiota in obese-prone mice. Thirty male and female lep-n-deficient obese mice were randomly assigned to groups receiving probio-c yogurts containing different combina-ons of two probio-c strains, L. plantarum KABP-051 and Bifidobacterium BB-12, administered for six weeks. Fecal samples were collected for gut microbiota analysis. While yogurt consump-on didn’t affect the total number of bacterial species, it was associated with a shiK in β-diversity (p<0.05). The group receiving both probio-c strains showed a higher rela-ve abundance of the phyla Ac5nobacteria and the genus Bifidobacterium compared to other groups.
