Abstract
Reducing everyday life stress (ELS) in adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) may be important for improving quality of life and reducing health disparities. Participants completed seven daily diaries assessing daily self-care behaviors and levels of ELS. Results suggested that greater average treatment engagement across the diary period was significantly associated with lower everyday life stress while fluctuations in day-to-day treatment engagement were not significantly associated with fluctuations in. This suggests that adolescents with T1D who are more greatly impacted by the stressors of everyday life may also struggle more with optimal treatment engagement.
