Abstract
our city is an abstract environmental video that visually explores Burlington, VT. The urban spaces that humans exist within are made up of an array of physical and ideologically manufactured spaces. The video asks the viewer to reevaluate their perspective on the way we create and live in environments. What could be better? What are the strengths of the current way of life? The endless growth of capitalism creates the spaces we operate within and have the ability to shape day in and day out. There can be urban decay, there can be urban development. It all starts with a change of perspective to critically look at our cities and spaces. The audiovisual array of spaces around Burlington presents coexistence and conflict. All perspectives and moments within these spaces present opportunities for more cohesion, more conflict, or something completely new. What spaces do people want to live in?
