Abstract
Catalytic dehydrocoupling has emerged as a seemingly efficient method for main group element-element (i.e., E-E or E-E') bond formation. The field is far from ideal, however, as fundamental issues are frequently encountered with substrate scope, product conversions, and catalyst activation. Recently, metal-amido complexes have emerged as efficient dehydrocoupling catalysts for producing small molecules and polymers composed of main group E-E' bonds. Herein, we report our own work with metal-amido complexes bearing either electron-withdrawing or donating substituents.
