Abstract
This project involves the creation of a microcavity-based organic light-emitting diode (OLED) emitting light across the visible spectrum. Layers inside the optical medium are deposited with a linear gradient, building on Ben Isenhart’s ('19) findings on the control of OLED devices’ peak emission and Gather et al's work with multicolored OLEDs. Both theoretical and experimental work was pursued for this project. Device fabrication is experimentally challenging and requires thin film deposition without substrate rotation. The emission spectrum of fabricated devices would be characterized using angle-resolved electroluminescence spectroscopy (ARES).
