Abstract
This report summarizes my ten-month journey exploring ways to create conditions for life to thrive when policy and politics fail or fall short. My motivation for this project began when working for the City of Spokane, I noticed widening polarization toward policies intended to protect the environment. I felt called to explore what opportunities and conditions could be cultivated to lead to more sustainable outcomes. My methods included interviewing local leaders and participating in community summits and workshops hosted by others while reflecting on my role and impact in shifting conditions. After discovering that many of my initial inquiries led to misguided results, I decided to return to the teachings of our first year in the MLS program to focus on re-aligning my internal conditions to my intentions of leading from a place of love, generosity, and acceptance.
