Abstract
Persistent postural perceptual dizziness (PPPD) is a functional neurologic disorder characterized by dizziness, unsteadiness, and hypersensitivity to self-motion. There is limited research on symptomatic profiling in PPPD. We conducted a retrospective research study of 111 patients diagnosed with suspected PPPD. Prevalence of symptoms, past medical history and sex-based differences were analyzed. 55.9% had a previous vestibular disorder, 97.3% had visual motion sickness, 54% had chronic headaches/migraines. We hope that by identifying most prevalent symptoms, comorbidities and sex-based differences in PPPD, we will enhance the diagnosis that would result in better plan of care.
