Abstract
Health and wellness coaching enhances employees’ health by supporting sustainable goal achievement. However, limited research exists on these programs, and many don’t incorporate student coaches. This study reviewed the literature on coaching programs retrieved from PubMed and CINAHL and evaluated UVM’s 3.5-year employee health coaching program. Improved self-efficacy and reduced burnout, especially for those challenged with health adversities was noted in the literature. UVM’s program demonstrated positive outcomes 12 weeks after the program ended but dropout rates remained an obstacle. Findings suggest continuing wellness coaching, focusing on highrisk populations and integrating student coaches to enhance health.
