Abstract
This study examines how ordinary actions foster resilience in community food assistance programs during crises, using Vermont Everyone Eats (VEE) as a case study. Grounded in Masten’s (2014) concept of ordinary magic and Buzzanell’s (2010) Communication Theory of Resilience, this research explores how networks, collaboration, and adaptive responses shaped VEE’s eKectiveness. Findings highlight the role of pre-existing relationships, inclusive aid structures, and reduced stigma in enhancing food security. The study contributes to resilience literature by demonstrating how everyday interactions strengthen communities. Insights inform policy and program design for future crisis responses, emphasizing dignity, eKiciency, and long-term sustainability.
