Abstract
Prior studies indicate that reducing transportation greenhouse gases depends on electric vehicle usage and charging behaviors. Place-specific insights about electric vehicle usage and charging are needed to understand differences across areas with distinct weather, terrain, and land use. This knowledge is critical for decision-making geared towards greater emission benefits within rural Northern regions like Vermont. In this study, we will collect real-world driving data from 100 electric vehicle households in Vermont to ascertain how electric vehicles are used and emission implications. The results will inform Vermont’s efforts to decarbonize the transportation sector.
