Abstract
Despite all of the recent advances in robotics, we are still far from the level of intelligence observed in living organisms. One of the aspects that is still missing in robotics is the ability to perform the same task at different structural scales. In this research, I'm trying to overcome this by designing modular robots capable of attaching or detaching while they can still perform their previous task with minimum interference. I'm focusing on locomotion as the desired behaviour for the robots and I'm considering quadruped robots as the modules.
