Abstract
Using the framework of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own, and James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room, this paper examines the manifestation of interior space in the works of female and queer artists. Historically excluded from the public sphere, these artists turned to interior spaces as a source of inspiration, and by doing so, created a unique visual language, and redefined their spaces as ones of infinite possibility.
