Abstract
The purpose of this Capstone project is to identify barriers to Occupational Therapy’s presence in the field of palliative care, identified through current literature and feedback from Occupational therapists with current or previous experience with the palliative care population. This background of evidence is utilized to create education and advocacy material for healthcare professionals and caregivers of palliative care patients to increase their understanding of OT and the likelihood of referrals for OT services in this area of practice. The presentation would include pre and post-experience data to support the purpose of the capstone project.
