Abstract
Foot health, though often overlooked, can significantly impact mobility and quality of life. In Richmond, Vermont, minor foot concerns are common, particularly among the active and older members of the community, while patients with diabetes face additional risks and special considerations for their feet. Routine foot care is often not covered by insurance until complications become severe and care becomes medically necessary, yet many patients are unaware of best practices for foot hygiene and preventive care. This project aims to empower patients to take care of their feet through the development of two educational handouts: one for general foot care and one focused specifically on diabetic foot care.
