Abstract
This project developed an expanded screening tool for intimate partner violence (IPV) and gun violence for use in a family medicine clinic in rural Vermont. Approximately one in five Vermont adults experience IPV in their lifetime, and about 82% of domestic violence–related fatalities in Vermont involve a firearm. Expanding screening aims to better identify patients experiencing or at risk for IPV or gun violence and create opportunities for the practice to connect patients with appropriate resources and referral pathways.
