Abstract
Climate change is rapidly changing the variability of ecosystems around the globe. An organism's food choice allows it to survive and adapt in varying environments. Many decades of research have characterized neurobiological aspects that allow organisms to sustain themselves in their habitat. Gaps in knowledge still exist regarding the connection between temperature and food choice and the genes that mediate this response. The objective of the project is to capitalize on the genetic tools of Drosophila melanogaster to understand the genetic basis of the relationship between temperature and food choice.
