Abstract
This study is a paleolimnological assessment of a soil core taken from Lake Carmi, Franklin, Vermont. Samples at selected depths were examined for diatom community composition, an indicator that is used to understand a lake's response to environmental stimuli. Lake Carmi is of particular interest as the watershed is struggling with eutrophication mitigation efforts. This study aids in understanding the lake and how it has changed over time.
