This factsheet summarizes ideas for managing legume cover crops in ways that are supportive to pollinator nesting and foraging behavior. This includes tillage depth for establishment or termination, blooms stage, species selection, and mowing height. Legumes have many benefits that are determined by how they are managed. They can be cared for in a way that optimizes soil nesting habitat for some bees and for the nectar and pollen their flowers provide to many types of pollinators.
