Abstract
My research is based on in-place interviews and ethnographic field notes, and survey responses. I am analyzing the relationships between town forests and their communities in the framework of “assemblage.” This theory emphasizes connectivity and networks as the defining characteristics of anything. Looking at the relationships and activities that move throughout the assemblages, we can understand what these town forests do within their networks. This understanding can change the way humans interact with the non-human world and can serve as a way to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis.
