Medical Instruments and Artifacts

The Dana Medical History Collection includes historical medical instruments, kits, and doctor’s bags. They are housed in the Medical History room, along with historical medical texts, manuscripts and journals, dating from the sixteenth century. A sampling of the medical instrument collection has been digitized for the use of scholars and the general public. Images are searchable and have a zoom feature for a closer look at details of the objects. Dana Health Sciences Library thanks Sarah McGlynn for researching, measuring, entering metadata, and uploading photographs of the medical instruments and artifacts.

The University of Vermont owns the copyright to all images. They may be freely used for PowerPoint and other lectures, as long as attribution is given.
Printing is not supported at the primary Gallery Thumbnail page. Please first navigate to a specific Image before printing.
