Abstract

This poster examines the ways in which both ancient and contemporary cultures repair their pottery and what repairs say about particular vessels. Why would a person repair it rather than making a new one? The poster also tracks the stylistic ways cultures repair vessels and whether the presence of reparation decreases the value/usefulness of the vessel in any way.
