High Resolution Land Cover Mapping in the Mid-Atlantic: Land Cover Mapping for the EPA Region 3 Area
Conference Year
2024
Abstract
As part of my Spatial Analysis Lab (SAL) internship I created an ArcGIS StoryMap about work the SAL is doing in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The SAL maps the composition of the landscape and changes occuring in human and natural communities, by obtaining visual imagery and using automated programs to identify features of the landscape. Human technicians manually correct errors the programs make, using visual cues to identify where corrections need to occur. This StoryMap presents how these maps are created, where they go, and my role in its creation.
