Exercise Interests and Preferences of People Living with Multiple Myeloma
Conference Year
January 2022
Abstract
Purpose: Exercise increases quality of life in cancer survivors and improves function. Yet, little is known about preferences and barriers to exercise for MM survivors. Therefore, we aim to identify the exercise interests of people living with multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: We conducted interviews over zoom with MM survivors. Using a semi-structured guide, participants were asked about barriers to exercise, exercise interests, and delivery format preferences. Interviews were transcribed verbatim, coded and thematically analyzed.
Conclusion: The themes and information emerging from analysis of the interviews will be used to design and test exercise programs tailored to people with MM.
