Abstract

This project developed an online gaming citizen science website for creating pattern-free ugly music by engaging citizen scientists to generate and apply solutions to a sophisticated mathematical problem. The work is founded upon a prior NASA citizen science project that applies solutions to the same mathematical problem to NASA astrophysics applications using a COSTAS Array. The main work of this project included creating an algorithm to generate pattern free music and then create an easy to use web interface to leverage that algorithm.
