Abstract

Although there are many illustrated resources for the modern veterinary student on equine anatomy in the field of lameness, there remains a distinct lack of illustrated educational resources for the undergraduate student. This project aims to create an illustrated resource for students minoring in Equine Studies. The use of illustrations as a teaching aid was studied, as well as the most effective digital illustration tools. The final project will educate students who work in the UVM Horse Barn through three painted posters, and a packet of drawings for use in Dr. Wilkinson’s course ASCI 221: Lameness in Horses.
